Looking for a private, untouched wilderness adventure in Fiordland? Our Pure Fiordland Scenic Flight is the ultimate way to experience New Zealand’s most dramatic and unpopulated landscapes.
This helicopter tour lifts off from Glenorchy and takes you soaring over Lake Erskine, past the mirror-like waters of Lake Quill, and alongside the mighty Sutherland Falls, New Zealand’s tallest waterfall. You’ll follow the route of the iconic Milford Sound Track, gliding over ancient forests, alpine lakes, and towering cliffs before arriving at Milford Sound, where wildlife thrives and the fjord’s natural beauty unfolds beneath you.
Landing at the exclusive Earnslaw Burn, a remote wilderness area where only a select few are allowed to set foot. Step out of the helicopter and feel dwarfed by sheer cliffs, cascading waterfalls, and a “hanging” glacier. The stillness, the scale, and the views across alpine valleys make this a truly unforgettable experience.
After lingering in this untouched wilderness, return to the helicopter for a scenic flight back, offering one final opportunity to admire Fiordland’s sweeping grandeur from above. Whether you’re chasing adventure or craving tranquility, this tour promises an unforgettable encounter with some of New Zealand’s most breathtaking landscapes.
What makes this Fiordland Scenic Flight unmissable?
- Flown by experienced local pilots with expert knowledge
- Exclusive landing at Earnslaw Burn with awe-inspiring glacier views
- Bird’s-eye view of Milford Sound and the surrounding fjords
- Fly over Lake Quill, Sutherland Falls, and the Milford Track

*In winter months (June – August) the Earnslaw Burn does not have as many fast flowing waterfalls compared to our spring and summer months (September – March). It is still a stunning and magical location to visit during winter as there is usually extra snow coverage on the glacier and throughout the valley.
